How to disable access to System Properties [XP & Vista]

This is a tutorial on how to disable System Properties Access in Windows XP or in Windows Vista.

The System properties can be accessed by right-clicking My Computer and then selecting Properties. From here, you could change vital system settings. To disable access to these options, follow this guide.

Note: This guide involves the use of the Group Policy Editor, which is not included with Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista Basic or Windows XP Home.


Steps

How to disable Access to System Properties

1) Start Group Policy Editor
Start > Run > “ gpedit.msc ”

2) In the left panel, go to Desktop

3) In the right panel, enable
Remove Properties from the My Computer context menu
