How to format a USB / External drive

How to format a USB drive


STEP ONE:

Plug the USB drive into a free USB port on your computer or laptop. (If it's your first time doing this you may get a message similar to below).

STEP TWO:

Click 'start' in the bottom left corner of your screen, you will see the start menu similar to the picture below. When it comes up click 'My Computer' as shown below.

STEP THREE:

When the "My Computer" window opens it should look similar to the picture below.

STEP FOUR:

Find the drive letter that represents your memory stick, right click it and choose "Format...".

STEP FIVE:

A box similar to below will appear, you can leave everything as it is then click 'start' at the bottom of the window.

STEP SIX:

A warning box will popup, simply click ok.
