Best hardware for your buck!

THis is a website im sure most of you know but some others may not.

www.newegg.com is a great place to get any of your computer hardware/software needs and they have great prices!

I built a custom desktop a couple years ago and got motherboard proccessor and ram for 200$ and it was a beast.

Maybe so in the USA, but we don't have a Newegg here. There are literally dozens of alternatives here. Myself and Mark have both bought equipment from the following retailers without any issues:

http://www.ebuyer.com
http://www.novatech.com
http://www.aria.com
http://www.dabs.com
http://www.kustompcs.co.uk

Overclockers is also a good retailer according to Mark. I've had issues with them in the past though.

They're all reputable, I tend to go with whoevers the cheapest. I've never bought from scan, but many people have and they should probably be on the list. I've got a TV here that was from Aria, the VGA port on it's knackered I should get round to RMAing it.

Lots of folk have had issues with scan though, hence their being nicknamed Scam computers, hence not including them in the list

There's also cclonline which I've had problems with, hence the exclusion

It depends, If I need a cheap part I use Droid Recycling (Ebay seller), because I know they're kosher. Then again I bought an XPS M1730 from Ebay, dropped it 4ft onto carpeted floor and it killed it.

I don't think *just* the act of dropping it that once killed it, it had a troubled life.

It was supposedly new, that's the problem.

I looked at the motherboard after the drop and there was a 20mm crack in the GPU. a 4ft drop doesn't cause that (might have made it worse though)
