iDOS, MS DOS Emulator for the iPad released!

If you're interested in using your iPad to emulate a 20 year old computer, you're in luck. Apple approve. DOS Emulator, named "iDOS" is now in the App store and selling for 99 cent.

Apple, being Apple and hating everything else in the world have for some very strange reason, unknown to man, approved a DOS emulator for the iPhone and iPad. But if you want it, i suggest that you purchase it quickly as it's only a matter of time before it's pulled.

Fast Intelligence, a small company, created the app from an open source version of DOSBox. The apple features a few "niceties" such as a retro keyboard, floppy drive, and attached sticky notes, and don't forget the coffee stained notepad.

People have already been hacking around with this app, and managed to run Space Quest, Spellcasting 101: Sorcerers Get All the Girls, The 7th Guest, Warcraft II, Freddy Pharkas - Frontier Pharmacist, and other games on iPads and iPod touches. That's not all! someone has even managed to install Windows 3.0 on the thing.

The app has now been pulled from the store, in a record time! But... is still available for anyone with a jail broken iOS device.

.. This won't last long. It'll be a jailbreak only application in less than a week.
