I currently run an Android based phone, the T-Mobile pulse on 1.5 (cup cake).

Here are some of the apps i use: (They're all FREE and available from the Android market place)

5. Astrid Tasks

11. WiFi Analyzer


Advanced task manager
Allows you to stop processes and background apps.

AndChat
IRC Client

AndFTP
FTP Client

AppRemover
A faster way to uninstall apps, also lets you uninstall more than one app at once.

Astrid Tasks
Keep track of tasks and things to do.

Calculator
Scientific calculator, comes in handy sometimes.

FlashLight
Makes your screen act as a light.

Meebo
Instant messaging client for MSN, Facebook chat etc.

PdaNet
Allows 3G tethering.

NetCounter
Shows how much you've downloaded from both 3G and WiFi.

WiFi Analyser
Analyses local WiFi networks to see what channels contain traffic and interference.

My friend recently bought his Android phone. However, he is still unfamiliar with the interface so can't experiment too much. I will share with him this android applications. Thanks.

They're all useful to me, at first i had no idea but then i started playing with everything, like it do then soon got the hang of it - it's so customisable.

I feel sorry for anyone who is getting a copy of Shazam now. 5 tags/month. That sucks. I've been using it since before Jul6th so I'm ok. Even if I switch phone, I'm okay because it's all stored on the servers.
