Modding a third desk - monitor addiction.

Here's my latest mod to date. This mod was prompted when i purchased a third 22" monitor to go with my setup and found out there was no space. :cry

The desk

Sorry, i didn't get any pictures of the desk as standard but these are pretty close, minus my measuring.

Pilots drill holes, allows me to get the Jigsaw in for cutting.

The jigsaw and goggles ofcourse, safety first.

Work in progress.

More measuring. The "Metal bar starts 6.5in" looks shopped but it's actually written on the table in marker.

What's in the box?

Da darr - dremel!

Dremel and cutting discs.

Upside down, measuring the metal cut.

Swiggly line = don't need.

Work in progress.

May of got a bit excited and cut it's leg off.

Balanced for further cutting.

Length cut.

Unneeded remains.

Top bit complete.

umm, these metal bits need to go.

No pictures of them being destroyed. :unhappy

Screwed the leg in, also super glued for extra strength. Weighing it down.

My set up as it was with 2 monitors, (as you can see you can't get a 3rd on there), believe me i've tried.

Third wooden desk, in place.

Why not build a shelf for 4, 5 and 6? Problem solved... You just need a few more graphics slots and cards

RE: Modding a third desk - monitor addiction. - Mark - 11-10-2010

Build a shelf where? :ermm

Also, agreed!

RE: Modding a third desk - monitor addiction. - bigsharn - 12-10-2010

I mean get a few screws and bits of MDF (and braces) and screw them to your desk... obviously this means d/cing and reconnecting the monitors (and drilling holes for the cables)
