How to show / hide the Administrator account on the welcome screen in Windows XP, Vista and 7

A built in Administrator account is automatically created when Windows is installed.
To show the account on the welcome screen follow the registry tweak below you could also use this to hide a normal user account from the welcome screen.

1) Start > Run > Regedit
2) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ Software\ Microsoft\ WindowsNT\ CurrentVersion\ Winlogon\ SpecialAccounts\ Userlist
3) Right click and create a new DWORD entry
4) Name it as Administrator and change its value to 1
5) Exit registry editor

To hide the administrator account on the welcome screen, change the value of Administrator DWORD to 0 in
